JennAir combination wall ovens with a microwave show F4 E6 when there may be a problem with the microwave wave guide temperature sensor or its wiring. The wave guide carries microwave energy into the cavity, so its temperature is closely watched. With F4 E6 on the display, the microwave may shut down. The microwave may stop in the middle of a cycle.
1. Press Cancel and let the microwave cool for fifteen minutes. 2. Make sure the area around the oven is clear. 3. Leave the breaker off for a minute, then turn the oven on and watch the wave guide sensor result. 4. Restore power and run a short water test. 5. Should the oven display F4 E6 again, we are one call away from checking the wave guide sensor.
It is the channel that carries microwave energy from the source into the cooking cavity. A sensor watches its temperature to protect the parts nearby.
The code is a protective alert, not a sign of fire. Still, stop using the microwave until it has been checked. It can happen even with a cool microwave if the sensor reading is wrong.
We test the sensor and its wiring, explain the result and provide a written price. Our work includes a 30-day workmanship warranty. Written quote first, with our 30-day workmanship warranty after the repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
