JennAir double and combination wall ovens, including the JJW9830DDP, display F6 E9 when the lower oven appliance manager or its wiring has a problem. This is the counterpart of the upper oven code, and it concerns the lower cavity only. The message appears on the display, and the lower oven may not heat, preheat, or respond to cycle settings until the appliance manager reports normally again.
1. Clear the display with Cancel. 2. Check whether the upper oven still starts a short bake. 3. Switch the oven breaker off for two minutes and back on. 4. If the lower oven shows F6 E9 once more, stop using it and phone us.
They are close relatives. F6 E6 names the upper oven's appliance manager and F6 E9 names the lower oven's. Your display tells you which cavity needs attention.
The upper oven may still work, so you can use it for short tasks. We would avoid relying on the lower cavity until it passes a power-on test and the code stays away.
Not by default. We test the lower appliance manager and its wiring first, then quote the single part that needs replacing. You approve that written price before we start the work.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
