On JennAir built-in wall ovens like the JJW2830DS, F6 EA means the user interface control has sensed an over-temperature condition, or the wiring to it has a problem. The display, which sits in the oven's front, has detected more heat than it should. You will see F6 EA, and the oven may shut off heating to protect the electronics, then stay locked out until the area cools.
1. Press Cancel and turn the oven off. 2. Leave the door open a few inches and let the oven cool for at least 30 minutes. 3. Check that vents around the oven and cabinet are not blocked. 4. Restore power and try a short bake. If F6 EA returns, stop and call us.
The control posts it when its own temperature reading is too high. Stopping the oven is the protective response, so give the oven time to cool and do not force it to run.
Trapped heat around the control can contribute, so clearing the cabinet vents is a safe first step. A lasting code still needs a technician to test the interface control and its wiring.
Allow at least half an hour with the oven off. If the code comes back after a normal short bake, the cause is not just a hot oven and we should look at the control.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
