On some JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with a clock display, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, ES or E5 means Energy Save is active. The control and clock go into a sleep mode that reduces power use by turning off the display when the range is idle. After five minutes with only the time showing, the display switches over. It is a setting, not an error.
1. Touch a pad on the control to wake the display. 2. Look at your owner's guide for how to turn Energy Save off on your model. 3. If you want the display always on, switch the setting off. 4. Turn the range off at the breaker for one minute if the display seems stuck. 5. Call us if the display stays dark or the code is not Energy Save.
Not here. On models with this feature, it tells you Energy Save is on and the display has gone to sleep. Touching the control wakes it.
F1 E5 is a two-part code that points to the oven control or wiring. The plain ES or E5 is the Energy Save notice and does not stop cooking.
Yes, and we can show you where the setting is. If the display still looks odd after that, we check the control and give you a written price first.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
