On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges such as the JIS1450DS and JDS1750ML, F5 E0 means there may be a problem with the oven door latch assembly, the door switch, or the associated wiring. On pro-style ranges, also check that the main oven door is seated properly on its hinges; a visible notch means the door was misinstalled. The oven will not run a cycle with the code showing.
1. Press Cancel and wait for the oven to cool. 2. On a pro-style range, open the door and look at both hinges for a visible notch. If one shows, the door is not seated, so lift it off and reseat it. 3. Close the door firmly. 4. Reset power at the breaker for a minute and test with a short bake.
On pro-style ranges a visible notch means the main oven door did not seat correctly. Reseating it often fixes F5 E0. It is a small groove where the hinge should engage, and it shows when the door is not seated.
F5 E0 names the door switch specifically, while plain F5 mentions the latch switches. Both lead to the same first check, which is the door, its hinges and whether it seats squarely.
If you are comfortable with it, yes, but hinge locks are spring-loaded and the door is heavy. We are happy to remove and reseat it for you safely, and a notch showing means it needs doing.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
