On JennAir built-in refrigerators such as the JB36NXFXLW, JCB2285KEF or JFC2089BEP, PO stands for Power Outage. The control shows it when the power was off and the freezer temperature rose to 18 degrees F (minus 8 C) or higher. The display reads PO, an alert tone sounds three times, and Confirm blinks until you press MEASURED FILL under Confirm to acknowledge the outage.
1. Press MEASURED FILL under the blinking Confirm to acknowledge the outage. 2. Check the freezer food: if it is still hard with ice crystals, it is usually fine, but throw out anything that has thawed and sat warm. 3. Confirm the breaker is on and the plug is seated. 4. Keep the doors closed while the temperature recovers.
The freezer has to rise to 18 degrees F (minus 8 C) or higher after the power was off. When that happens, the display reads PO and an alert tone sounds three times so you know.
Press MEASURED FILL under the blinking Confirm to acknowledge the outage. Once you have acknowledged it, the control goes back to its normal display and the blinking stops.
Check it item by item. Food that is still frozen hard is generally fine. Anything that thawed and sat warm should go. If you are unsure about an item, discard it rather than risk it.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
