JennAir C202 Cartridge Cooktop, Coil and Grill Modules
The C202 is a 30-inch electric cooktop where the cooking modules slide in and out: coil cartridges for pots and a grill cartridge for searing indoors. It is built around the same downdraft vent as the other classic cartridge models, so smoke goes down through the cooktop instead of up into a hood.
What we see most on the C202 is the damper. Years of grease stiffen the flap that closes the vent, so it sticks open or will not seal, and cold air or cooking odors can drift back. The blower, the grease trap and the cartridge connections age along with it.
