JennAir C301 Repair for Glass Radiant Cartridge Cooktops

The C301 offers glass radiant cartridges in addition to the usual coil modules, so you will find a smooth glass section sitting beside the downdraft vent in a 30-inch electric drop-in cooktop. Many are still in daily use in kitchens that have been cooking on them for decades.
The glass cartridge is the part to protect. A heavy pot dropped on it, or a spill that bakes on while the element is hot, can crack the glass or burn out the heating coil beneath it. The rest of the cooktop, including the blower and base, is usually unaffected, so replacing a single cartridge is the typical fix.
We check the cartridge’s power supply and element, then the trap, blower and knobs. If the glass is cracked, we stop using that cartridge and explain what is available. The price comes in writing before any work, and our repair has a 30-day workmanship warranty.
We advise against it. A crack lets spills reach the heating element and can cause damage or a hot spot. Turn that section off and call us, and we will quote a replacement cartridge in writing.
The two are on different circuits. A working cartridge says nothing about the blower. We check the blower power, its switch and the grease trap to find which one is stopping the vent.
The platform is designed around interchangeable modules, but we confirm that a given cartridge matches your cooktop and wiring before suggesting a swap. We give you the written price first.
