JennAir JED4536K Lustre Downdraft Cooktop, 5 Elements Repair
Part of the Oblivion / Lustre family, the JED4536K is a 36-inch electric cooktop with five elements and a downdraft, in black with stainless trim. The JED4536KB and JED4536KS are the same base model. Owners typically have it in an island, where the downdraft pulls cooking vapor down instead of up.
With five elements, the load on the circuit is considerable, so we confirm the supply and the connections at the cooktop before we blame a part. After that, each element is checked, and the switch for any suspect zone is measured under power.
