JennAir JED4536WS Radiant Cooktop with Touch Control, 36-Inch

With a 36-inch radiant surface, electronic touch control and a downdraft, the JED4536WS suits an island setup where counter space is generous and the exhaust has to go down rather than up. The sealed surface is easy to clean, but the electronics underneath depend on staying dry and cool.
When one of these arrives for service, we check the touch panel response first, then test each radiant element with a meter. If the panel and elements both check out, the problem is often in the wiring harness between them. The same visit covers the downdraft filter and blower.
We quote in writing before we start any work. Parts and labor we perform are covered by our 30-day workmanship warranty. If the cooktop trips a breaker or shows nothing at all, tell us when you call so we can bring the right meter.
Not always. A dirty or damp panel causes the same behavior. We clean it and test response, and only then do we look at the board or connectors.
They share the cooktop housing, but the blower has its own motor and switch path. A noisy blower can be serviced without disturbing the radiant elements.
Flat-bottomed pots that sit fully on the glass transfer heat best. Warped pans leave gaps that make elements cycle more, which can shorten their life over time.
