JennAir JIDT730SBL Black 30-Inch Downdraft Induction Cooktop Service

The JIDT730SBL is a 30-inch NextGen induction cooktop in black, with a downdraft vent beside the cooking zones. At this width it often replaces a 30-inch range top in a kitchen where the wall behind has no room for a hood.
Over time the glass picks up scratches and boil-overs, and spilled liquid can get into the control area. The vent adds a second system to look after: filters, a blower and the duct that carries air out of the house.
We start by checking each zone with a magnetic pan, then listen to the blower at every speed and inspect the filter. The price is written down for you before repairs, and we back the work for 30 days.
Spills, a wet control area or a pan resting on the touch panel can trigger that. We dry and inspect the panel, check for liquid under the glass and test the controls before suggesting a replacement part.
Some blower noise is normal at the top setting, but rattling or grinding is not. We check the blower wheel for grease buildup, the mounting and the duct, which are the usual sources of extra noise.
Only if a magnet sticks to the bottom. Many stainless pans work, while aluminum and copper do not. If a magnetic pan is still ignored, we test the zone directly with a pan of our own.
