JennAir JMHF730RBL Hood Microwave Combination

The JMHF730RBL is a 30-inch over-the-range hood combination microwave with a floating black glass front. It replaces the hood above the cooktop, so it handles ventilation as well as cooking, and the fan and filters work every time something is on the burners.
That is why we start with the vent: filters, fan motor, blower wheel and the cooktop lights. Then we check the door latch, the heating and the touch controls. Grease on a black glass front also makes the controls hard to read, so we clean the surface before testing the panel. The black glass front can hide dust on the vent slots, so we check them with a light.
We write the price before work and warrant our repairs for 30 days.
Grease buildup on the blower wheel or a worn motor bearing is the usual reason. We clean the wheel and test the motor, then quote any needed part.
Clogged filters restrict airflow, so heat and grease linger near the controls. Wash them regularly. If the fan still runs weakly after cleaning, we check the motor.
They are often different, so check the label on the old bulb. We test the socket and the switch, and replace the right bulb for each spot so nothing is guessed.
