What F1 E0 means

On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS and JIS1450DS, F1 E0 means there may be a problem with the oven control or the associated wiring. The display shows the code and the oven stops cooking. On RISE and NOIR pro-style ranges the instruction is to turn the temperature knob to OFF to cancel it and then reset power.

Common causes of F1 E0

  • Oven control with an internal problem
  • Wiring or connector issue between the control and other parts
  • Temporary glitch after a power disturbance
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Turn the oven knob or Cancel pad to off. 2. On a pro-style range, make sure the temperature knob sits at OFF. 3. Switch the breaker off for one minute and back on. 4. Start a short bake to test. If any gas smell is noticed on a gas range, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. A returning F1 E0 needs a technician.

! Why to stop there
  • The code points at the brain of the oven, which cannot be tested by eye.
  • A repeat code after reset rules out a one-time glitch.
  • We diagnose first, quote in writing, and give 30 days of workmanship warranty.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

F1 E0F1 E0 questions
How is F1 E0 different from a bare F1?

A bare F1 includes the temperature sensor in its description. F1 E0 on these ranges names only the oven control and its wiring, so we begin with the board and its connectors instead of the sensor.

What does a power reset do on a pro-style range?

After the knob is turned to OFF, cutting power for a minute lets the control restart cleanly. If the code stays away, no further action is needed. Make sure the knob is fully off before cutting power, then give the control a clean restart.

Will you replace the control right away?

No. We test first and tell you the price before ordering anything, since wiring can be the real cause. Yes, we test first, quote in writing, and order only what the testing proves.
