What Flashing Time, Clock, 12:00, Power Loss or Enter Time means

On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, a flashing Time, 12:00, POWER LOSS or ENTER TIME display shows when power is first supplied to the oven or after an interruption or failure. It is not a defect. Press CANCEL to clear the display, then set the time of day. Refer to the owner's manual for details.

Common causes of Flashing Time, Clock, 12:00, Power Loss or Enter Time

  • Power was first supplied to the oven after installation
  • A power interruption or outage reset the clock
  • A tripped breaker that cut power briefly
✓ One safe check you can try

1. Press CANCEL to clear the display. 2. Set the time of day as your owner's manual describes. 3. Check that the range breaker is on and that lights on other circuits work. 4. If the clock resets itself repeatedly, note when it happens and call us.

! Why to stop there
  • The oven is telling you it lost power, and setting the clock fixes that.
  • A service visit for a clock would be a waste of money.
  • If it keeps resetting with steady power, then a check of the supply or control makes sense.
Opening a panel yourself does not automatically cancel a manufacturer warranty, but it can cause accidental damage, and some manufacturers set their own service conditions. Check your warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.

Why is my oven showing 12:00?

Power was interrupted or just supplied, so the clock reset. It is a normal reminder to set the time of day, and nothing needs repair.

Do I need to reset anything else?

Press CANCEL to clear the display, then set the time of day. Stored settings may need re-entering as well, so check your cycle options afterward.

It happens every few days. Is something wrong?

Repeated resets suggest power is being interrupted, such as by a breaker. If your power is steady, call us and we will check the range.
