On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JDS1750ML or JDRP548W, Sabbath, Sab, 5Ab or 5A7 means Sabbath Mode is enabled. It keeps the oven on in a Bake setting until turned off. Only the Bake cycle operates, and all other cooking and cleaning cycles are disabled. No tones sound, and the display does not show temperature changes. To return to normal use, cancel Sabbath Mode.
1. Turn the oven off first if it is baking. 2. Follow your owner's manual to cancel Sabbath Mode. 3. Check that the display returns to normal and tones come back. 4. If Sabbath Mode will not cancel, call us and tell us the model.
Sabbath Mode silences tones and hides temperature changes on the display, so the oven stays quiet and unchanged in appearance while the mode is on.
Only Bake works while Sabbath Mode is on. All other cooking and cleaning cycles are disabled until you cancel the mode, so nothing else will start.
Turn the oven off and try the cancel steps in your owner's manual again. If the mode still stays on, call us and we will check the control for you.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
