JennAir Range Display "PUSH" or "PSH": Press Start to Begin

What PUSH or PSH means

On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JDS1750ML or JDRP548W, PUSH or PSH on the display is a prompt to press Start. The Start pad begins any oven function. If Start is not pressed within 5 seconds, PUSH or PSH appears. If Start is not pressed within 1 minute after pressing a keypad, the function is canceled and the time of day is displayed.

Common causes of PUSH or PSH

Start was not pressed within 5 seconds of setting the function
The setting was left waiting for more than a minute
A function entered by accident that needs no action

✓ One safe check you can try

1. Choose your oven function as usual. 2. Press the Start pad within 5 seconds so the prompt does not appear. 3. If a minute has passed, set the function again from the beginning and press Start. 4. If Start does nothing at all, call us.

! Why to stop there

It is a prompt, not a problem.
A visit would only press a button.
If Start does not respond, we test the pad and quote in writing.

Is PUSH an error?

No. It is a reminder to press Start so the function begins. The oven is working normally and is simply waiting for you to confirm your choice.

What if I miss the prompt?

After 1 minute without Start, the function is canceled and the time of day returns. Set the function again and press Start within a few seconds.

Start does not work. What next?

Try a dry fingertip on a clean pad. If it still does nothing, call us and we will test the keypad and explain the price in writing first.
