The JennAir built-in microwave family, including drawer models and the microwave cavity of combination ovens like the JMC2430LL, uses F3 E1 to flag a possible problem with the Lower Oven Temperature Sensor, the control, or the wiring. When the lower cavity reading drops out, the appliance cannot control heat there. Expect the code on the display and little or no heating in that section.
1. Cancel any cycle and give the unit time to cool. 2. Switch off its breaker for a minute, then switch it back on. 3. Try a short test cycle in the lower section. 4. If F3 E1 shows once more, stop and call us. Leave all panels closed and do not try to move the sensor.
It sits in the lower cooking space and reports temperature to the control. You should not need to find it yourself, because we test it with instruments.
Each cavity reports separately. F3 E1 belongs to the lower oven sensor, so the upper sensor can be healthy at the same time. That is why a code for one cavity never proves anything about the other.
We give a written price before starting any work and back the repair with a 30-day workmanship warranty. That covers the sensor and the labor to fit it, with no surprises later.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
