JennAir 8101P423-60 Downdraft Range Service

The 8101P423-60 is an older electric JennAir slide-in range, also sold as 81T2P180-60. It uses the cartridge-style cooktop with a built-in downdraft that pulls cooking vapors down and out instead of up into a hood.
After this many years, the usual trouble is in the details. The downdraft blower may hum without moving air, a cartridge element may stop heating, and the trim and knobs can crack. Terminal blocks and wire ends also corrode with age. We test each cartridge and the blower on its own, so only the failed part is replaced. We also check the cartridge sockets and pins for burn marks, since poor contact at a socket can look like a dead element.
We give you the price in writing before we begin, and the work comes with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
Yes. We note both codes on the plate, identify the range and the cartridge in place, and confirm parts availability during the visit before you approve any price. We also take the codes down for our records and the invoice.
Yes. The grease screens and the duct under the cooktop collect grease. Cleaning them keeps the blower working and lowers the odor in the kitchen.
Often yes. Each cartridge is tested separately, so a failed element or switch can be fixed without disturbing the rest of the range. The cartridges plug in, so one can be tested alone.
Book in about a minute, or call the desk. Same-day windows inside the Loop on most days, next-day across the rest of Houston.
