F3 E2 appears on JennAir built-in microwaves, microwave drawers, and combination wall oven microwave cavities, including the JMC2430DS and JMC8130DDS, when there may be a problem with the Oven Temperature Sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. Without a trustworthy temperature reading the unit stops cooking rather than guess. The display shows the code and heating generally halts. Heating stays off until a valid reading returns.
1. Press Cancel, open the door, and let everything cool. 2. Turn the circuit breaker off for a full minute and then restore it. 3. Start a brief cycle to see if the code returns. 4. If F3 E2 comes back, leave the unit off and arrange a visit. Please do not pry off trim or touch internal wiring.
The control found the oven temperature sensor circuit unreadable. That could be the sensor itself, the control, or the wiring, which is why a test comes before a part.
It means the unit cannot confirm its temperature, so it should not be run. Nothing is unsafe while it sits unplugged or off, but have it checked before regular use.
Those two name the upper and lower oven sensors. F3 E2 names the general oven temperature sensor, so we start our checks there. Using the exact code gives our technician a head start on the right test.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
