On JennAir built-in microwaves and microwave drawers, and on combination wall ovens with a microwave cavity such as the JMC2430DS, F6 E1 means there may be a problem with the Main Oven Temperature Sensor, the Oven Appliance Manager, or the wiring. Several different conditions can produce it. The display shows the code, and the oven section may not heat or hold temperature.
1. Press Cancel and let the unit cool. 2. Turn the breaker off for one minute and restore power. 3. Start a short bake and watch the display. 4. If F6 E1 comes back, stop using the unit and call us. The code has several possible origins, so please do not try to chase it down inside the cabinet.
The notice lists a sensor, a control, and wiring, and any of them can cause it. A technician tests each in turn instead of guessing at one part.
It names the main oven sensor and the Oven Appliance Manager, so the oven section is the focus. The microwave function may still work, but have the unit looked at.
Occasionally, if the cause was a brief glitch. If the code returns after a reset, book a visit. A single reset is fine, but repeated cycling can wear on the electronics, so stop after that.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
