On older JennAir ranges such as the JDR8895AAS and JDS8850AAB, F03 means there may be a problem with the electronic oven control or the wiring connected to it. Unlike the sensor codes, nothing in the description points to a probe or a latch, so the oven brain itself is the first suspect. The display shows F03 and the oven cycle usually stops.
1. Press Cancel or turn every function off. 2. Switch the range off at the breaker for a minute, then restore power. 3. Set the clock and try a short bake. 4. Do not remove the control panel or probe the wiring yourself. If F03 returns, stop using the oven and call us.
A surge can upset an electronic control, so a breaker reset is a fair first move. If the code returns after the reset, the control or its wiring needs testing. Resetting at the breaker costs nothing and takes a minute, so try it once before calling.
Not necessarily. Surface burners often work on their own circuits, but the oven should stay off until the control is checked. If the burners light and run normally, they are usually safe to use while the oven waits.
The official wording is the same for both: electronic oven control or wiring. We test the same circuit for either code. Because of that, we test the same wiring and control for both codes and quote them identically.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
