On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, including the JES1750FS and JGRP430WP, F3-1 is another way the oven reports a possible problem with its temperature sensor, the control, or their wiring. The dash version appears on some control generations instead of the F3 E format. The oven cannot read its own cavity temperature reliably, so it stops or refuses to heat.
1. Turn the oven off and give it 30 minutes to cool. 2. Switch off the breaker for about a minute and turn it back on. 3. Remove racks and foil that might touch the sensor probe inside the oven. 4. If F3-1 appears again at the next preheat, call us instead of cooking.
Different control generations format the same family of codes differently. F3-1 still concerns the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the wiring between them, so the checks are alike.
Usually not. Without a reliable temperature reading, the control stops heating or ends the cycle. That protects the oven rather than letting it run blind.
A gentle wipe of the probe inside the cavity when cool is fine, but do not bend it. If the code remains, call us and a technician will test the whole circuit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
