On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges such as the JES1750FS and JIS1450DS, F3 E4 asks you to verify that the meat probe is securely inserted in the meat probe receptacle. The location of the receptacle varies by model. The control is trying to read the probe and cannot, so the probe cycle stops and the display shows the code.
1. Press Cancel and wait until the cavity is cool enough to reach into. 2. Pull the probe out and check that the plug is clean and straight. 3. Push it fully back into the receptacle until it seats. 4. Cut power at the breaker for a minute if the code stays, then try again. 5. Try cooking without the probe to see whether the oven works normally.
The location varies by model. It is typically on the oven cavity wall near the front, and the probe plug fits it directly, so look for a small jack and push the plug in firmly.
Yes. Regular bake and broil do not use the probe, so only probe cooking is affected. Choose a standard cycle, and you can keep using the oven while the probe or its jack waits for a look.
If a firm, fully seated probe still triggers the code, the probe, the receptacle or the wiring needs testing. Cooking without the probe works meanwhile, so the visit does not have to be urgent.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
