JennAir JES1450CFS2 Electric slide-in Range Service

The JES1450CFS2 is an electric slide-in range, so there is no gas line to worry about and no downdraft to service. It slides between base cabinets and, with age, it picks up the usual electric-range wear.
On a range like this we separate the cooktop from the oven. Surface elements and their switches are checked for continuity and cycling, then the bake and broil elements are tested the same way. The oven sensor is checked against a thermometer, and the touch controls are tested for response and clean power from the feed.
Everything is quoted in writing before we start, and repairs include a 30-day workmanship warranty. If a part is no longer available for this older model, we say so right away.
Usually the element itself has burned out, or its switch or terminal block has failed. We test continuity and voltage to tell which, and replace only that part.
A weak bake element or a sensor that has drifted are the usual causes. We compare the oven with a thermometer, then test the element and sensor to find the one that is off.
It can upset the electronic touch controls, though it often only needs a reset or a connection check. We confirm the board before suggesting any replacement.
