JGRP536WP

JennAir JGRP536WP Older Gas Range with Griddle Service

JennAir range

Most common issues on this model

  1. Uneven griddle heat from a failing element
  2. Burner next to the griddle ticking without a flame
  3. Bake and broil accuracy lost to the sensor
  4. Lock that stays shut after a cleaning cycle

The JGRP536WP is the older WP finish of JennAir’s gas range with a griddle where one pair of burners would normally sit. It is the one that came before the RISE and NOIR versions and is still found in kitchens built around a pro look.

Because the griddle gets daily use, we test it first for even heat, then check the burners that remain and their igniters. Inside the oven, we look at the sensor, the pair of convection fans and the door lock that engages for cleaning. Parts are matched to this WP model, not to the newer HL or HM, since some changed between generations.

If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. We quote in writing before work starts and cover repairs with a 30-day workmanship warranty.

Key features

JGRP536WPJGRP536WP questions
The griddle is hotter at the back than the front. Is that normal?

Some variation can occur, but a big difference means a worn element or a loose connection. We measure heat across the surface and replace only what fails.

Will JGRP536HL parts fit my WP range?

They might not. Finish and some parts changed between generations. We match every part to your model number before ordering so you are not charged for the wrong one.

Why does a burner next to the griddle light slowly?

A dirty igniter or clogged port is the most common cause. We clean the burner and test the igniter, then price any part that actually failed.
