On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, code 1c81 points to the oven control or the wiring connected to it. The control has noticed something it cannot work around, so the oven stops baking and the display shows 1c81 instead of the time. Nothing in the message singles out a burner or a heating element.
1. Touch Cancel and see whether the clock comes back. 2. Switch the range off at its breaker, count to sixty, then switch it on again. 3. Start a ten-minute Bake at 350 degrees and watch the display. 4. If 1c81 shows up again, leave the oven off and call us. 5. Keep the control panel and the range's back cover closed.
It means the electronic oven control, or the wiring tied to it, has a problem. The oven will not bake normally while the code is showing, and the display no longer shows the clock.
Sometimes, if the code was a one-time glitch. If it returns when you bake again, the control or its wiring needs to be checked on site, not reset over and over.
On many ranges the surface burners run separately, but we cannot promise that for your model. If the code appears, we recommend a visit, and you get a written price before we start.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
