On JennAir ranges like the JGRP430WP or JES1750FS, 9d21 reports a possible problem with the oven door latch assembly, the door switch, or the associated wiring. The control checks the door every time you start a cycle. When the latch does not report as expected, the oven stops, and the display shows 9d21 until you cancel it. Until the cause is cleared, the display will keep showing it.
1. Let the oven cool. 2. Open the door, check for anything in the way, and close it again. 3. Press Cancel. 4. Flip the breaker off for a minute, then on. 5. If 9d21 shows again, call us before using the oven. Skip any self-clean cycle until then.
It can show up around that lock, since the latch does the work. The meaning also covers the door switch and the wiring, so we test all three.
Almost never. The latch assembly and switch are separate parts. We find the failing one, tell you the price in writing, and repair only what is needed.
Latches and switches wear gradually, and a small shift can be enough to lose the signal. Heat cycles and years of door use all play a part.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
