On older electric and gas JennAir ranges such as the JDR8895AAS, F06 says there may be a problem with the electronic control or its wiring. The oven control checks itself as it starts, and when something does not add up it posts F06 and ignores the cycle you asked for. The cooktop may still operate, but the oven function is not trustworthy.
1. Press Cancel, then shut the oven off. 2. Cut the breaker for a minute and switch it on again. 3. Reset the clock if asked, then run a short bake as a test. 4. If F06 appears again, leave the oven alone and call us. Please do not remove the control panel or look behind the range.
A persistent code means the control sees the problem every time it powers up. A reset cannot fix a failed part or a damaged wire, so a returning F06 is a reason to book a test visit.
An outage can disturb a control, and a reset may clear that. If it returns without any power event, the control or wiring is the more likely cause.
Many diagnoses finish in one visit. If a control must be ordered, we quote it first and schedule the return once you approve. We schedule the return visit around you, and you pay nothing until you approve the quote.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
