JennAir ranges with the dash-style display, such as the JDS1750ML or JES1750FS, report F1-8 when the oven control, the user interface or keypad, or the wiring between them may have a problem. In plain terms, the touch pads and the board behind them may not be talking to each other. The oven may stop, and keys may not respond. The code shows up as a flashing message on the display.
1. Wipe the control panel with a soft dry cloth, especially if it looks damp or greasy. 2. Press Cancel. 3. Switch the range off at the breaker for one minute and back on. 4. If F1-8 returns or some keys stay dead, stop using the oven and call us. 5. Do not pry at the glass panel or spray cleaner onto it.
The meaning includes the keypad, so a damaged or failing pad is a real possibility. Surface grease alone is not named, but a clean dry panel helps the test.
The keypad and control exchange signals. When that link breaks, either end could be the cause, so we check the keypad, the control and the wiring before replacing anything.
The oven will not be usable, so the sooner it is checked, the sooner you cook again. We give a written price first, with a 30-day workmanship warranty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
