On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges such as the JDS1750ML and JES1750FS, F3 E1 points to the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. It is the sensor-reading member of the F3 family, so the oven stops when the reading looks wrong. On JennAir double wall ovens the same code specifically refers to the lower oven sensor.
1. Cancel the cycle and let the cavity cool. 2. Take out foil, stones or tall pans that touch the rear wall. 3. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then on. 4. Run a short bake. If F3 E1 repeats, the sensor circuit needs testing by a technician.
It relates to the oven cavity sensor only. The cooktop usually works independently of it, so surface cooking is normally still available while the oven waits for a sensor circuit check.
Double wall ovens have two sensors, and the code identifies the lower one. A range has one oven, so the code just means the oven sensor circuit. That is why the same code reads differently on different appliances.
Do not wipe or scrape near it while the oven is hot. A dirty sensor is not the official cause, so the circuit itself needs checking, and we measure it with the range powered safely.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
