The JennAir F5 E3 code, seen on electronic-control electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges such as the JES1750FS or JDRP548W, indicates a possible problem with the main oven door latch assembly, the door switch, or the associated wiring. The oven is not satisfied that the door lock is working as expected. Expect the code to stay on the display, and expect self-clean and some baking functions to be unavailable.
1. Make sure the oven is off and cool before trying the door. 2. Gently close the door fully; do not slam it. 3. Reset power at the breaker for a minute, then restore it. 4. If F5 E3 returns, avoid self-clean and call us.
It is best to wait. The oven cannot confirm its door lock, and cooking may be limited. Turn the oven off and call us for a check.
Self-clean runs at very high heat, so the door has to be locked. If the latch cannot confirm itself, the control keeps the code up instead of starting the cycle.
The latch assembly, the door switch and the wiring between them and the control. We explain the result and quote the price in writing, with a 30-day workmanship warranty on the repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
