On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, F9-1 means the oven door latch, the door lock switch, or the associated wiring may have a problem. The dash-style code tells you the control cannot confirm the lock position. Expect the code on the display and trouble locking or unlocking the door.
1. Turn the oven off and wait for it to cool. 2. Close the door gently and make sure nothing blocks it. 3. Switch the breaker off for one minute and back on. 4. If F9-1 comes back, do not force the door; call us.
Self-clean needs the door locked. If the control cannot confirm the lock position, it shows F9-1 and may block the cycle until the lock circuit is checked.
All three share the same meaning on the label: latch, lock switch and wiring. The last number helps a technician see which check triggered, so give us the full code.
If the door closes normally and the oven heats, you may be able to bake, but the code means the lock cannot be trusted. Avoid self-clean and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
