On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JDS1750ML or JIS1450DS, Lock on the cooktop means the Control Lock is active. It avoids unintended use of the surface cooking areas. If it was activated while power to the cooktop was off, the cooktop is locked out and the surface areas cannot be turned on from the touch controls. If it was on with power on, all keypads are locked except Power and Off.
1. Find the Lock key on the cooktop touch controls. 2. Touch and hold it to unlock, following your owner's manual for the exact timing. 3. Make sure the cooktop panel is dry and clean before pressing. 4. If the cooktop will not unlock, call us.
If Control Lock is on, the surface cooking areas cannot be turned on from the touch controls. Unlock the cooktop first and then try again.
If the lock was activated with power on, all keypads are locked except Power and Off, so you can always turn the cooktop off if you need to.
Dry and clean the panel, try again, and check your owner's manual. If it still will not release, call us and we will test the touch controls.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
