On JennAir over-the-range microwave hoods such as the JMV9196CS and the JMV8000 series, F2H2 means there may be a problem with the Vent Fan and Light Switch, which sits on the lower left front side panel, or with its wiring. That switch tells the control when you want the vent fan or the cooktop light. The code appears on the display, and the fan or light may not respond.
1. Press the vent fan and light controls a few times to make sure nothing is stuck. 2. Wipe the lower left side area with a dry cloth. 3. Switch the breaker off for one minute, then on. 4. Test the fan and light. If F2H2 returns, call us and do not remove the side panel.
It is on the lower left front side panel of the microwave hood. We find and test it so you do not need to open anything.
The microwave itself may work normally, since the code concerns the vent and light switch. Use it carefully and have the switch checked. The vent fan and light controls are the ones affected.
Wiping grease from the area can free a sticky switch. If the code returns, the switch or wiring needs service. Use a dry cloth only, since moisture near the switch can make things worse.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
