JennAir built-in microwave and combination wall oven models with a water system, including the JMC8130DDS, show F7 E1 when there may be a problem with the Water Boiler Temperature Sensor or its wiring. The control uses that sensor to watch the heat of the water boiler. The display shows the code, and cooking modes that rely on the boiler may be disabled.
1. Cancel the cycle and let the unit cool. 2. Check the water container, if your unit has one, and refill with fresh water. 3. Leave the breaker off for one minute, then bring it back on. 4. If F7 E1 returns, stop using water functions and call us. Do not touch hot boiler parts.
It is the part that tells the control how hot the boiler water is. If its signal is lost, F7 E1 appears and boiler-based cooking stops.
Other functions may still work, but we suggest limiting use until the code has been checked. Avoid the water-based modes in the meantime, and never open the unit to look at the boiler.
Mineral buildup can affect water systems in general, but this code points to the temperature sensor or wiring, so cleaning alone seldom removes it. We replace the sensor, not the unit.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
