Code 4d51 appears on JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges, for instance the JDRP548W or JES1750FS, when the oven door latch assembly, the door switch or the wiring may have a problem. After a recent clean cycle you might notice the door will not unlock, or the oven refuses to start a new cycle. The code can also appear after a cleaning cycle if the latch did not release.
1. Give the oven plenty of time to cool, since a hot oven may keep the door locked. 2. Try the door gently, never by force. 3. Close it and press Cancel. 4. Cut power at the breaker for a minute. 5. If 4d51 is still shown, call us.
Wait for the oven to cool, then try the door once more without force. If it stays shut, call us and we will free it and fix the latch properly.
The wording is the same: latch assembly, door switch or wiring. The numbers tell the control which step of its door check caught the problem.
On many ranges you can, but we cannot say for your model. If any burner or element behaves oddly, turn off the breaker and call us.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
