On JennAir RISE and NOIR pro-style ranges with knob controls, such as the JDRP548HL or JGRP430WP, blinking amber lights followed by a tone mean the range has detected an error. You may hear three short tones and then one longer tone. The pattern tells you an error code was stored, and you need to find that code before the cause can be named.
1. If you ever smell gas, leave the house and call the gas utility from outside. 2. Turn the Temp knob to any position, then back to Off, to clear the control. 3. Wait a minute and try a normal start. 4. If the amber lights return, write down the tone pattern and the model. 5. Call us with those details.
Move the Temp knob to any position, then move it to Off. That resets the control. If the lights come back, the error is real and needs a closer look.
They signal that the range stored an error. The pattern alerts you and does not name the cause on its own, so we ask for the model and any code you can find.
Do not cook if you smell gas or see anything unusual. Otherwise, clear the control once. If the lights return, stop and call us before using the range again.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
