On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges, for example the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, the words Cooling Fan Speed on the display mean the fan is running too low or too high. An airflow restriction, the oven cooling fan or the wiring may be the cause. This text version covers the same ground as the numeric 4d2 and 4d4 codes. It appears on the display in place of the clock.
1. Let the range cool. 2. Check that vents are open and nothing is stacked against the range. 3. Press Cancel. 4. Turn the breaker off for a minute, then on. 5. If the Cooling Fan Speed message returns, stop using the oven and call us. Mention whether the fan sounded slow or loud.
Not always. The fan speed is outside the expected range, which may be caused by airflow, the fan or the wiring. We test each before replacing anything.
It covers both directions in one message: speed too low or too high. The numeric codes tell you which one, and the text version leaves it to the technician.
We aim to, depending on the schedule and part availability. You get a written price before we begin, and a 30-day workmanship warranty afterward on the repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
