On older-style JennAir ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JGRP430WP, F1-2 means the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring may have a problem. The dash form is typical of earlier displays. The oven stops and flashes the code, and baking cannot resume until it is cleared. Testing sorts out which of the three is responsible.
1. Let the oven cool. 2. Touch Cancel. 3. Shut the breaker off for one minute, then switch it on. 4. Test with a short Bake. 5. If F1-2 returns, stop using the oven and call us. Food inside can finish cooking elsewhere.
Nothing different for you: both mean the oven temperature sensor, the control or the wiring. A technician uses further checks to tell the two entries apart.
It is how this control generation displays the code. Quote it exactly as shown, dash included, when you call so we match the right entry.
Take it out once the oven is cool enough to handle safely, and finish cooking another way. We can then look at the oven when it is empty.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
