On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, F2 E5 points to the user interface or keypad, the control, or the wiring between them. The oven cannot trust what the touch panel is telling it, so it shows the code and may stop responding to the pads. You will see F2 E5 on the display, often with the oven refusing to start.
1. Turn the oven and cooktop controls off. 2. Switch the range's breaker off for one minute, then back on. 3. Wipe the control panel dry with a soft cloth in case moisture or grease is touching the pads. 4. If F2 E5 returns, stop using the oven and call us.
It points to the user interface or keypad, the control, or their wiring. It does not name one part, so a technician tests the signal path to find which one is responsible.
It is better not to. The oven has flagged a problem in how it reads its own controls, so settings may not be trusted. Switch it off and call us.
Sometimes a reset clears a one-time glitch. If F2 E5 comes back, the cause is still present. We then give you a written price before we start any repair.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
