On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges like the JES1750FS and JIS1450DS, F5 E5 means the oven has not reached self-clean temperature after 30 minutes. The range suggests a problem with the door hinges or the door gasket letting heat escape. The clean cycle ends and the display shows the code. On JennAir wall ovens the same code refers to the door latch assembly and door switch instead.
1. Press Cancel and wait for the oven to cool all the way down. 2. Inspect the door gasket for gaps, tears or pieces that have slipped out of place. 3. Check that the door closes squarely with no uneven gap. 4. Remove racks and spills, and reset power at the breaker. 5. Retry the clean cycle once.
The control waits 30 minutes for the cavity to reach self-clean temperature before it ends the cycle and shows the code, so a clean cycle that is losing heat stops by itself.
Heavy soil does not usually trigger it. The listed suspects are the door hinges and the door gasket, which let heat escape, so look at the gasket for gaps before you retry.
On this range it does not. The same code on a wall oven names the latch assembly and door switch, which is why we always diagnose by appliance.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
