On JennAir electric, gas and dual-fuel ranges with electronic oven control, such as the JES1750FS or JDS1750ML, plain F6 says the oven control, or the wiring around it, may have a problem. The control is the brain of the oven, so when it flags itself the oven usually stops. You will see F6 on the display and the oven may ignore your settings.
1. Turn every control to off. 2. Cut power at the range's breaker for one minute and restore it. 3. Wait for the display to come back and check whether F6 is gone. 4. If F6 shows again, stop using the oven and call us.
The oven control, or the wiring around it, may have a problem. It is the broadest of the F6 family, so a technician checks the control and its connections together.
It can clear a one-time glitch. If F6 returns, the cause is still present and the control or wiring needs a proper test before anyone orders a part.
If the cooktop responds normally it may still work, but when the whole display is affected it is safer to turn the range off and call us for a check.
A technician diagnoses it on site and gives you the price in writing before any work starts.
